Vedanta: One and the Many

One and the Many

One is always one. Many is not opposite of One, but an appearance of One. One is not displaced by Many and is One with or without Many. Ones are opposed to Many ; appearance has an opposite in disappearance. The One is always One and has no opposite.

Mathematically, One is Infinity. Ones and twos and finite numbers. Zero is the absence of numbers. Differences between one and many, numbers and zero are all included in the Infinite. Infinite cannot be enhanced by addition, depleted by subtraction,

magnified by multiplication, nor diminished by division.

The Infinite is not a number. It is All.

The Infinite is not a summation of all numbers. A summation of numbers tends to Infinite but can never equal it.

The is beyond all numbers and is present in and through all numbers.

The Infinite is one, two, many, and zero. It is more than one, and many.

The Infinite is all numbers and different from all. It is zero and yet different from zero.

The Infinite is the Number of all numbers, One of the one, Many of the many, Zero of the zero, All of the all, and beyond the one, many, all, and zero.

The Infinite is called One, All, None, Beyond, Immanent, Transcendent, Only, Absolute, Immutable. It has many names. The wise know it as the One and Only Reality behind all mathematics.
